GP2 testing

GP2 tests are over for the day, but continue tomorrow. It was wet in the morning at Silverstone, but drivers eventually got out on slicks in the afternoon and set good times. Fastest of all was two-time GP2 Asia winner and Renault test driver (and former driver) Romain Grosjean for DAMS.
Grosjean’s time was 1:40.725, which is about 10s faster than the GP3 cars were doing last week. This is approximately a 90% difference. The slowest dry time was Ocean’s new signing Kevin Mirocha (is Kevin a German name, really?), who set a 1:44.029. The two who graduated from GP3: Gutierrez and Varhaug, both settled towards the bottom of the table though they had been fast in the morning session, but were faster than Malaysian driver Fairuz Fauzy.
