Two hours of boredom followed by two of mayhem

The Canadian Grand Prix began at 6.00pm BST. It finished at 10.04pm BST, officially the longest ever Formula One race. For all but one lap, Sebastian Vettel led. And on the final lap Sebastian Vettel made a mistake and the closing Jenson Button took the win.
For two hours the race was red flagged while the rain fell, and everyone was completely bored, but then it began again. Despite several safety car periods and Jenson Button being penalised for speeding under the safety car, the weather conspired to get the rain expert victory.
Hamilton, Alonso, Maldonado and Di Resta all crashed out, though Di Resta was classified. Kovalainen and Sutil retired. Karthikeyan received a 20 second penalty for jumping the chicane to overtake Glock at the end, but Liuzzi finished 13th and put Hispania ahead of Virgin in the championship (but still behind Lotus). Button is under investigation, but the FIA are gonna be driven into the ground if they dare give him a time penalty.
The provisional classification of the top ten is: Button, Vettel, Webber, Schumacher, Petrov, Massa, Kobayashi, Alguersuari, Barrichello, Buemi. It is Jaime Alguersuari’s first points of the season, and thus Toro Rosso’s first double finish.
