2011 Formula Renault 3.5 driver Stephane Richelmi, who replaced Stefano Coletti at Trident after the Belgian Grand Prix weekend and who drove for the team at the GP2 final, will be coming back to the F1 feeder series for 2012. The Monegasque driver struggled in his short time in GP2, but his experience should still give him an advantage over any rookies next season. He struggled with International DracoRacing in FR 3.5, picking up six points compared to teammate Andre Negrao’s 20 though he did well in the first race at Monza. It will be interesting to see how well he does in 2012, but I do not think he will be a contender for points – at least not in the first half of the season.
I am not announcing every driver update because sometimes they slip under my radar. Sometimes, I’ve been having a long day at work – F1 isn’t my full-time job sadly (not yet, anyway). I hope you will forgive me for not reporting everything. Please keep an eye on the lineups for 2012 in the relevant sections of this blog.
God bless, Merry Christmas. Keep an eye out for my race-by-race season reviews over the next few weeks. Please subscribe either via WordPress or using your RSS feed. It is greatly appreciated!
