Lotus Team Principal Eric Boullier is 39 today. Formula Renault 3.5’s Gio Venturini is 21.

On This Day:
There has never been a grand prix on November 9th, but as F1’s calendar more regularly extends into November, this is likely to change in the future.

Cyril Abiteboul has been appointed Caterham Team Principal with immediate effect. The Frenchman recently came to Caterham from his position as Renault Sport deputy chairman, to become CEO of the team. Aged just 35, he is the youngest team boss in F1.
The final day of the F1 young drivers test saw Alexander Rossi unable to complete a full day of running due to an oil leak. GP2 champ Davide Valsecchi came out on top for Lotus.

The private Formula Renault 3.5 test continues at Barcelona.

Stat of the Day:
The country that has completed the most average laps per driver in 2012 is Finland, with 1049.5, but close behind is Australia with 1046.5. At the other end of the scale, France’s trio have only managed an average of 880.33 laps.
