Countdown to 2013 Formula One season: 92 days

Former F1 Team Principal Colin Kolles celebrates his 45th birthday today.
Yugoslav-American racing driver Bill Vukovich was born on this day in 1918. He won the 1953 and 1954 Indy 500s, which were then part of the F1 calendar, and died in an accident while leading the 1955 Indy 500. He was the first driver to die in an F1 World Championship race. His son and grandson have also competed in the Indy 500, though sadly Billy Vukovich III also died in a racing accident.

It now seems likely that only 19 Grands Prix will go ahead in 2013 despite the FIA moving the calendar around to accommodate a 20th race.

Stat of the Day:
An interesting article by @F1StatMan about the longest F1 circuits on the calendar, and of all time here.
