Countdown to 2013 Formula One season: 75 days!

On This Day:
The 1965 and 1968 F1 seasons began with two days remaining in 1964 and 1967 respectively. This is because the South African GP was held on New Year’s Day in those seasons, and so the race weekend would have begun in December.

The Mercedes MGP-W04 has passed the FIA’s crash tests so it will be able to participate in the 2013 F1 season.

Stat of the Day:
Before 2010, Mercedes had a win rate of 3/4, having won nine out of twelve races.
Today, they have since won one more race, but participated in 58 more races. This means they now have a win rate of 1/7, having won ten out of seventy races. Can Lewis Hamilton change the team’s reputation in 2013?
