Pierro Taruffi, an F1 driver from the early days of the championship and finished 3rd in the 1952 championship, died on this day in 1988.
The 1975 Argentinian Grand Prix was won by Emerson Fittipaldi after polesitter Jean-Paul Jarier’s Shadow broke down on the warm-up lap. Fittipaldi won by five seconds over Hesketh’s James Hunt.

French motorcyclist Thomas Bourgin has sadly died while riding in the Dakar Rally.
There’s no change in the leaders for the categories at Dakar. Peterhansel won today’s stage, keeping him ahead of Al-Attiyah. The gap is 3 minutes 14 seconds, and they are 45 minutes ahead of P3.
Lucas Auer took pole for today’s TRS NZ race, which took place earlier. Felix Serralles has pole for the feature race tomorrow afternoon, local time. The grid of tomorrow’s morning race was determined by the results of race 1.
