Countdown to 2013 Formula One season: 54 days

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost is 57 today.
GP2 driver Jolyon Palmer is 22 today.

Felix Serralles won the second race at Timaru in the Toyota Racing Series. The third race was won by Alex Lynn. Lucas Auer now leads the series by 6 points over Serralles.
The Dakar rally is over. The winners were: Cyril Despres (bikes), Marcos Patronelli (quads), Stephane Peterhansel (cars) and Eduard Nikolaev (trucks). Peterhansel adds yet another Dakar victory to his CV, making 11 overall. Despres has his fifth Dakar victory, one away from Peterhansel’s bikes record.
The final rounds of Rallye Monte-Carlo were cancelled due to the huge number of spectators, giving Sebastien Loeb victory. It’s his 77th rally victory, and seventh at Monte-Carlo. Sebastien Ogier finished second in his debut race for VW, while Spaniard Dani Sordo finished third.

No more racing for a little while.
