Countdown to 2013 Formula One season: 51 days

On This Day:
Carlos Reutemann took his F1 debut at his home race in 1972. The Argentinian took an impressive pole for Brabham. Jackie Stewart won the race for Tyrrell.
In 1977, James Hunt was pole man for McLaren in Brazil, and on the fifth anniversary of his debut, Carlos Reutemann won for the fifth time.
The 1982 South African Grand Prix was the last F1 race to be held in January. Renault dominated, with Rene Arnoux on pole, and Alain Prost winning.

News:
David Fumanelli has moved to Trident in GP3.
Raffaele Marciello will continue to drive for Prema in F3.
Timo Glock will participate in a DTM test for BMW.

Stat of the Day:
Carlos Reutemann took pole in his first F1 race. Apart from Nino Farina, who took pole in the first World Championship race, only Jacques Villeneuve (1996 Australian Grand Prix) has matched this record.
