Countdown to 2013 Formula One season: 49 days

Luca Badoer, ex-F1 driver, is 42 today.
Mihai Marinescu is 24 today.
Nigel Melker, Formula Renault 3.5 driver, is 22 today.

On This Day:
Niki Lauda won the 1976 Brazilian Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso will not be driving in the first pre-season test for Ferrari. Massa will take the car for the first three days, and new development driver Pedro de la Rosa will have the car on the final day.
Timo Glock has been signed with BMW for the 2013-15 DTM seasons.
Robert Kubica was testing DTM with Mercedes. The ex-Renault driver is not yet ready for F1, but it would be good to see him in DTM.
Pirelli have offered an F1 test drive to the next GP2 champion. This is good news after GP2 champ Davide Valsecchi was overlooked for an F1 drive this season.
Addax are yet to announce the driver who will partner Rio Haryanto. According to their Twitter, it is between Dani Clos, Jake Rosenzweig, Adrian Quaiffe-Hobbs, Josef Kral and Ramon Pineiro. That’s a difficult choice between a number of good drivers.
