FIA European F3 Championship preview part 2

My quick rundown of who’s who in European F3 2013 continues today with ma-con Motorsport, Mucke Motorsport, Prema Powerteam and T-Sport.

ma-con Motorsport are a smaller German team running two German drivers. Sven Muller was in the F3 Euro Series last year, driving for Prema. He finished a very good sixth. Andre Rudersdorf last year won Austrian F3 and the ATS F3 Trophy (German F3).

Mucke Motorsport have a long history and are sending four drivers to F3. Mitchell Gilbert is an Australian and took part in German F3 last year, finishing fourth. Roy Nissany is an unusual Israeli driver, and had moderate success in the ADAC Formel Masters season last year. Felix Rosenqvist was third last year in European F3, taking a number of wins towards the end of the season. Pascal Wehrlein was second in F3 Euro Series and fourth in European F3 last year.

Prema Powerteam supply yet another strong lineup to F3. Lucas Auer is Gerhard Berger’s nephew and was tough competition in TRS NZ. Eddie Cheever III last year came second in Italian F3’s European and Italian series. Alex Lynn dominated Formula Renault UK in 2011, and finished 2nd in TRS NZ this year. Raffaele Marciello has a history of strong driving, and has a lot of F3 experience from last season.

Finally T-Sport are running two drivers. Will Buller was at Carlin last year and had a decent set of results in the F3 series. Spike Goddard was British F3 National class champion last year, and could also do well.

There are just three more teams left to discuss (although some of their drivers are yet to be announced) but already this season looks to be highly competitive. You’d be hard pressed to pick a winner out of this lot.
